Do you love ushering in a new month as much as I do?

For me, each one feels fresh and full of infinite possibilities.

It’s like whatever has happened up to this moment is in the past and everything in this moment forward holds the potential for all wonderful things to unfold for us in our lives.

We are now in April which means we are already 1/4 of the way through 2016.

Does this idea create a bit of urgency for you too?

For me I know it does because I have quite a few things I would like to do, see, and create this year that I haven’t gotten around to doing, seeing, or creating yet.

(Sound familiar?)

Let’s make a pact to try something different this month.

Step #1

Let’s let go of the urgency.

It isn’t doing anything but creating stress, guilt, confusion, and overwhelm. (If we haven’t gotten to it yet there is a good reason for it but that is a topic for another day.)

Step #2

Let’s release any and all expectations about the outcome.

We can turn the focus away from the goal and towards the actual doing and allow the fulfillment to come from the experience vs from an expected or hoped for result. (HINT: Often times our fear of something not going the way we hope for it to often leads to inaction and procrastination.)

Step #3

Let’s ask ourselves “What is it that I deeply desire to do but have been putting off?”

If many things come to mind, we can write them all down in a list. Then we can go back and read through them one by one and notice which one feels most exciting or jumps out for us. No need to overthink this…they are all things we want to do anyway, right?

Step #4

Let’s do it now! Taking action, even when it seems small, creates movement. And taking consistent action creates momentum.

The best part is when there is momentum, it is so much easier to keep it going.

It really is that simple. The only way for us to move from feeling stuck to feeling accomplished is to take action.

I hope this was inspiring and helpful for you. If you have any questions about this or want to share what you will do, please let me know in the comment section below – I’m happy to support you.
